Four things around the text box - Add document — attach up to five files; the supported types and sizes are in Attaching documents. - Show scope — opens the Scope tab of the Context panel, where you see how your question was understood. - Ask by voice — dictate your question with the browser's speech recognition (your browser asks for microphone permission the first time). - Send — and, while the house is working, Stop.

While you type Nothing is sent until you press Send. You can paste long text, links, a DOI or an arXiv identifier — the house recognises them (see Phrases the house understands).

After sending The composer clears and the answer begins to arrive. If your session had expired in the meantime, the app tells you and keeps your draft below the notice.
